**GUEST POSTING BY MELINDA** New Beginnings and In Too Deep by Brandy L. Rivers

New Beginnings (Prequel to Others of Edenton)

Book Blurb:
Jess knew her life would never move forward if she remained a part of Gregory’s pack. Some Alpha’s just don’t know how to take care of their wolves. She had managed Gregory’s bar for years but she knew he would never sell it to her.

After one giant mistake, he went from bad to worse. As a psychic, she knew it was a downward spiral.

Taking her future in her own hands, she contacts the Alpha in Edenton. He is happy to sell the empty bar no one has the time, nor desire to renovate, much less run.

Their attraction is unexpected and the last thing either want, but they find the only thing they need in each other.

There is just one problem. Slater’s second in command is plotting against him. Liam will use anything to take over as Alpha.

Plenty of werewolves, an old vampire flame, plus a paranoid second, and don’t forget the psychic with a whole lot of attitude.

My Review:
I was given this book by the Author to give a truthful review.
This is the prequel for In Too Deep.  I read In Too Deep first so I knew how the book would end and that did not detour me from reading it.  If you read In Too Deep you saw what a strong female Fallon was, well this was no different.  Jess will not disappoint you.  She is also a strong willed woman (which I love women who won’t take shit from anyone).

Jess is not only a werewolf but also psychic.  She gets visions of anyone she comes in contact with by touch or if it affects her directly. She makes a mistake one night by getting drunk and sleeping with her Alpha.  Things went from bad to worse so she decided to leave the pack, her twin sister, and best friend to join another pack.  The new Alpha, Slater, sold her a bar that was in town.  Slater says he does not get involved with his wolfs and never has after the death of his wife.   Jess is adamant that she is not interested in any human, mages, witches, druids, or wolves.  She becomes good friends with Brody, one of the enforcers of the pack, when he helps her get the bar ready to open.  For someone who doesn’t get in involved with his wolves Slater sure gets jealous of the friendship Jess has with Brody.  The more Slater and Jess would fight the feelings they had for each other the stronger they would become until one day they could no longer fight what was between them.  Now they had to deal with Liam, Slater’s 2nd in command, who was plotting to take over the pack and wanted to get rid of Brody.   Jess had a so much going on dealing with getting her bar ready to open, jealous girls, her ex-Alpha, Liam trying to sabotage things, trying to hide her feeling from herself and Slater, and trying to decipher the visions she was getting, but she never lost her attitude and still stood up to anyone and everyone that got in her way.

I loved watching Slater and Jess try to deny what was meant to be, fight against it, and ultimately loose.  I enjoyed watching the friendship between Jess and Brody grow (especially since I know what happens in In Too Deep).   Again, I just love a strong woman in a story, take no shit, stands up for herself no matter who it is in front of her (no wussy whinnying chick in this book either).

This is a great prequel to introduce you to all the individuals in the series and the world of wolves, vampires, witches, druids, Nephalim, and more. I am looking forward to more of this series and to find out who the next book is about.

In Too Deep

Book Blurb:
Brody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. On yet another depressing night, he is viciously attacked by vampires.
Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Tired of men and their games, she climbs onto her Harley and leaves her old life behind.
Running for his life, Brody crashes into Fallon and sparks fly. She ends up stranded in the Northwest with her ride out of commission.
With no ride and nowhere to go, Fallon allows her best friend to convince her to stay in Brody’s apartment. He’s determined to claim her heart and keep her safe from the shadows in her past. Fallon prides herself on her independence and would rather keep him safe, even from herself.
With the impending danger from the group of vampires and dark mages, they will have to work together. The closer they get, the harder it is for her to fight her attraction.
Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink.

My Review:

A friend told me I should read this book.  She said it was a great paranormal.  WOW was she right it was great.
This starts off with a kick ass heroine (got to love them, no wussy whinnying chick here) named Fallon riding her motorcycle like a bat out of hell.  She had the lights off and has the power to silence the motor so she can’t be seen or heard.  One problem, Brody is in wolf form running from vampires and runs right into Fallon.  The run in damages her bike and hurts him in the process.  Fallon manages to save his butt from the vampires.   Brody tries to do right by her and tells her he will fix her bike.  Fallon’s best friend, Jesse, happens to live in the same town as Brody and convinces her to stay at his place in an apartment above his garage and arranges a job for Fallon.  Fallon takes a job as a tattoo artist to ward all the wolves in the pack at Brody’s brother shop since she doesn’t have wheels at the moment.  There is a jealous girl that wants Brody and past acquaintances of Fallon show up to cause HUGE trouble for Brody, Fallon and the pack.
I loved this book.  How could you not when you have a Kick ass heroine, Fallon, who can hold her own and doesn’t take crap from anyone, a boyfriend, Brody, who is head over heels for Fallon, the best friend, Jessie, who gets to see things as they occur or seconds before, to the big fight scene.  This book had me from the time I picked it up to the time I put it down.  The next book is about Jessie and the Alpha, Slater, can’t wait to get my hands on that one.
